"People's Choice TV nominees: Who will win?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 15:40:48

Do you see the populate's Choice TV nominees? Well here we go and I'll make my predictions. The awards ordain be handed out Jan. 8 on CBS. Favorite drama: "CSI," "House" and "Law & Order: SVU." Where's "Grey's Anatomy"? The ratings would declare it's no contest and "CSI" will win. But maybe "accommodate" ordain slip in. Favorite comedy: "The King of Queens," "My Name Is Earl" and "Two and a Half Men." "King" has left prime time. "Earl" is sinking in the ratings. It's going to be a Charlie Sheen victory. Favorite animated comedy: "Family Guy," "King of the Hill" and "The Simpsons." A two-way race between "Family Guy" and "The Simpsons." Don't be surprised if "Family Guy" takes the prize although I would prefer to see "The Simpsons" win. Favorite reality contest: "American Idol," "Dancing With the Stars," "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." Favorite bet show: "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" "Deal or No Deal" and "Jeopardy!" The consider should go to "Jeopardy!" for being great after all these years. Favorite TV actress: Sally Field. Katherine Heigl. Jennifer like Hewitt. Favorite new TV comedy: They're all nominated. be for "Samantha Who?" to win. Favorite new TV drama: They're all nominated. "Private learn" should win easily. Favorite scene-stealing feature: Richard Belzer of "Law & request: SVU," Neil Patrick Harris of "How I Met Your Mother" and Chandra Wilson of "Grey's Anatomy." Wilson should undergo won an Emmy by now. Maybe a populate's Choice Award ordain make up for the oversight. Comments are moderated and will not appear on this Web log until approved. "The Summit for Friendship and Integration of the Iberoamerican Peoples" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 14:12:34

Today the Summit for Friendship and Integration of the Iberoamerican Peoples begins in Santiago. Chile. Yesterday the presidents of Ecuador. Venezuela. Bolivia and Nicaragua along with the vice-president of the Council of State of Cuba confirmed their presence in an act with the social movements and organizations of the region. “The summit was planned by tens of social movements and organizations of the country for instance the National Association of Rural and Indigenous Women (ANAMURI) and the Central Union of Workers. Political Chilean organizations have also been working in the organization of the Summit like the Communist. Socialist and Humanist parties. In addition the summit has been called on and organized with the Continental Social Alliance which gathers social movements organizations and networks of America. They bring home the bacon in search of an alternative and democratic development model.” “I am very glad with the response of the organizations of the Latin American networks and with the meaning of this meeting to the social movements of Chile the popular movements and the political parties” a member of ANAMURI and Via Campesina. “This Summit has been a gift for us the Chilean populate and for the organizations of the country. It allows us to cater again”. Today several forums will commence for the arrive at participants. The predominant issues that will be focused on are Climate dress energy issues and integration; but “the role of the transnational corporations in Latin America the go of the transgenic products and agrofuels the development of biotechnology and its consequences on the rural area” and many other issues will also be discussed. When the forums end on Friday a final document ordain be given to the Heads of States and Governments participating in the Iberoamerican Summit of Heads of States and Governments as the Peoples’ Summit… This document ordain aim at raising their awareness about their worries demands and proposals. The purpose of the Summit however is more of “an open democratic and also revolutionary conference,” said Socialist Party Senator Alejandro Navarro.“There will be the deep revolutionary sentiment that there is a way to alter your dreams come true and that is done by working hard and working together.” Indeed. Governments are more than willing to get us in the dark and radically dress our lives without our consent–and there is little we can do to truly act in their plans because come up let’s approach it: democracy is bad for business. That is why we must organize ourselves create our own events and become so unavoidable that they are compelled to acknowledge and truly bear on us. This is the backbone of the Peoples Summit which I think is one that people in the North would do come up to hit the books from. I say that because change surface though complain and resistance is an important social tool the outcome of such action is inherently limited — and on top of that. If all we do is resist than we can never really undergo anything of our own can we? It’s like nurturing a lay we’re trying to change by focusing all efforts towards stopping another lay from interfering with ours. It’s irresponsible of us to neglect our plant desire this don’t you think? Especially since our clearly ineffective acts of resistance actually strengthens the immunity of the lay we want to be rid of… what doesn’t blackball you makes you stronger right? come up hopefully these words alter sense to you because there sure is a be for such events to take displace in North America - particularly in Canada. very unfortunate mention of the King of Spain telling Chavez to shut up during the Summit. It seems the King forgets that his role in Spanish politics is symbolic and not political. Zapatero asks Chavez for consider (as the latter called the ex-president of Spain José María Aznar facists and non-human) but at the same measure the King was totally unrespectful with the president of Venezuela. This Summits are remember by soft comments, and it always comes as a surprise when someone speaks out freely as Chavez normally does. In the end the role of the King was symbolic as comfort in the 21st century the King of Spains tells the president of Venezuela to change state up being one of his big mistakes in diplomacy.

I wonder if they would cater? What would they say about the adjoin? the re-creation and how much of an honor it is for such a wonderful & well-respected person such as is to pay such a tribute to the former Flying Nun herself. Unlike one Ms. Nancy Sinatra who stated after seeing our playing the roll of this Ms. Sinatra doing " These Boots Were Made For Walking " that had she (Nancy) been there she would have screamed. "Garage Sale Gestapos in People's Republic of MN" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-09 18:38:01

She is obligated to obey with existing laws just like the rest of us. She had bring together warning yet continued her illegal and already sanctioned activities as usual. She wasn't even a resident of the neighborhood where she was selling goods. As cute as it might be to have a nice lady selling things twice yearly it is necessary to have legislation that prevents others from using the same loophole to establish a copy of unlicensed uninsured non-tax-paying commercial behavior that violates residents rights to the change intensity enjoyment of their homes. Government officials decide to ignore existing laws all the measure. act for example the sanctuary cities from the east glide to the west glide where mayors governors and U. S congressmen express the guard not to compel federal immigration laws. If they get to decide which laws to obey with why can't everyone else?Do you evaluate any government official would be sympathetic [or exceed yet sight a way to allow our behavior] if I can get 20 million people to agree not to comply with the income tax laws?Maybe we could get income tax sanctuary cities. Our government and police compel should fight real crime - including illegal immigration. Minnetonka should be ashamed over this incident anonymous 12:23 comments are ridiculous - it's a free country. Or at least it used to be. The old saying is that people get the government they deserve. Why are we putting up with mindless wasteful bureaucrats at all levels in this country? Citizens desire anonymous 12:23 should act to Myanmar or North Korea.

"THOMAS SOWELL COMMENTARY: Mugged By Reality: Part III" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-03 14:36:13

: "The very existence of Iraq is a prove of Woodrow Wilson's grandiose ideas about 'the alter of self-determination of peoples," which led to the dismemberment of the Ottoman Empire by the victorious allied powers after the First World War. Some of the most bitter and intractable conflicts of our measure have arisen in nations carved out of the Ottoman Empire whether in the Balkans or the Middle East. You cannot move a territory and its population into a functioning nation with the stroke of a pen or the drawing of lines on a map. Real nations evolve over measure out of the mutual accommodations of peoples not by imposing the bright ideas of theorists from the top down. No small part of African nations' problems comes from the fact that most became nations only in the sense that conquerors carved up African territories among themselves to conform to their own convenience. There was no nation of Nigeria until the British drew some lines on a map and gave it that name. There is no cerebrate to evaluate that such a nation would undergo evolved on its own given the mutually antagonistic peoples living in that vast territory."He continues: "Iraq is an disapprove lesson in another comprehend. You seldom hear about the area of the country controlled by Kurds because that has been the most peaceful and orderly part of Iraq and the media are drawn to death and destruction. In his insightful new schedule. 'Mugged by Reality,' compose John Agresto says: 'I do not believe one American pass or civilian has been killed or even hurt in Kurdish Iraq since the war began -- or maybe ever.' The Kurds are a people. They are not just some folks thrown together by others who drew lines on a map. They had their own leaders before there were any national elections in Iraq."And more: "Democracy means voting. It does not convey freedom. When we lump the two ideas together we confuse ourselves and others. Britain was a free country long before it became democratic. In Germany. Hitler was elected democratically. In much of Africa democracy in practice has meant. 'One man one choose -- one time,' as elected leaders put an end to both elections and freedom. It would be wonderful to have free and democratic nations throughout the world and that would very likely reduce military conflicts as Sharansky and others say. But we do not verify freedom by holding elections. According to John Agresto in Iraq 'the 'democratic' government now entrenched is as sectarian and incompetent as we ever could have feared.' He is unwilling to say that the invasion of Iraq 'as originally conceived' was a identify but he fears that it has become 'a tragedy.' This is not a plea for withdrawal. Whatever the situation when we went in international terrorists undergo chosen to alter this the place for a showdown battle. We can win or suffer that battle but we cannot unilaterally end the war. It is the terrorists' war regardless of where it is fought."
